Befriending

We are planning a befriending service for Friends and carers. It is not running yet. Tell us if you are interested and we will be in touch when it is ready.

What is it

One-to-one friendship that fits your life

We are planning a service that would match Friends and carers with a volunteer for regular visits or phone calls. It would be about having someone to talk to, share interests with, and enjoy company, at a pace that suits you both.

  • Regular, consistent contact

  • Matched with someone you'll get on with

  • Support from our team throughout

Be first to know

Tell us you are interested, or ring us on 07935 797445, and we will let you know when befriending opens.

Questions

Everything you need to know about befriending on the Wirral.

Who can join?

Befriending will be for Friends and carers who would like regular company and conversation.

How does matching work?

We'll get to know you first, then introduce you to someone we think you'll get on with. We listen to what matters to you both.

Is it safe?

Keeping everyone safe will come first. We will explain how befrienders are checked and trained before the service opens.

Can I volunteer as a befriender?

Not yet. When we are ready to recruit befrienders we will say so here. In the meantime, our volunteer page lists the roles we have now.

When does it start?

We do not have a start date yet. Tell us you are interested and we will let you know as soon as it is ready.
