Welcome

Memory cafés

A cuppa, a chat, and friendly faces. Memory cafés are for people living with dementia and their carers.

What is it

A place where you can be yourself

A memory café is a relaxed, friendly space where people living with dementia and their carers can meet, chat, and enjoy tea and cake together. There's no pressure to join in activities, you come at your own pace.

Questions

Everything you need to know about visiting a memory café.

Do I need to book?

No. Just turn up. Each café meets once a month at the same time and place, so you can come along whenever you're ready. See the dates above.

Can I bring a friend?

Yes. Many people come with a carer, family member, or friend. You're welcome to bring whoever you'd like.

Is it free?

Yes. Our cafés are free, thanks to grants, donations and our volunteers. At a few cafés you may buy your own drink.

Are refreshments provided?

There is usually tea, coffee and cake. It's part of what makes a memory café feel like home.

What if I'm nervous?

That's completely normal. Our staff and volunteers will make you feel welcome, and there's no pressure to do anything you don't want to.
