Cookie policy
What cookies are, which ones our website uses, and how to change your choices.
What cookies are
Cookies are small files that a website saves on your phone, tablet or computer. Some help the website work. Others help us understand how our website is used, or let services from other organisations work inside our pages.
How we manage cookies
Cookies are managed through our cookie banner. When you first visit our website, the banner asks which cookies you are happy for us to use. Essential cookies are always on. Other cookies are only used if you say yes, and you can change your mind at any time.
The cookies we use
Essential cookies
These are needed for the website to work properly and safely. For example, our cookie banner, run by CookieYes, saves a cookie called cookieyes-consent to remember your choices, and the company that hosts our website uses a cookie to keep it secure. You cannot switch these off.
Embedded content from other websites
Some of our pages show content from other organisations. These services may set their own cookies:
- Donorfy, which runs the secure forms on our Donate and Become a Friend pages.
These organisations are responsible for their own cookies. You can read about them in their own privacy and cookie policies. Our links to Google Maps, Facebook, Instagram and JustGiving open on those websites, so they do not set cookies on ours.
Analytics cookies
We use Google Analytics to understand how people use our website, for example which pages are visited most, so we can make it easier to use. These cookies are only used if you say yes. Google Analytics does not tell us who you are.
Full list of cookies
This list is kept up to date by our cookie checker, which scans our website every month. It shows each cookie, what it is for and how long it lasts.
Change your cookie settings
You can change your cookie choices at any time: Change your cookie settings
You can also block or delete cookies in your web browser's settings. If you block essential cookies, parts of our website may not work.
