Volunteer

Session support volunteer

Be a friendly face at our sessions. Welcome Friends and carers, chat over a cup of tea and help everyone feel at home.

About the role

Our sessions run at 20 locations across the Wirral, from memory cafés to music and gardening. As a session support volunteer you help make each one feel warm and welcoming.

What you would do

  • Welcome Friends and carers as they arrive and help them settle in
  • Chat over tea and biscuits, and join in with the activity
  • Help set up and clear away

Who it suits

Anyone who is kind, patient and happy to chat. You do not need to know anything about dementia. Over two-thirds of our volunteers have cared for someone with dementia themselves, and you will be working alongside them.

What you get

  • A full induction before your first session
  • Training, including safeguarding
  • Friendship with other volunteers and the Friends you meet

How to apply

Call us on 07935 797445 or email info@dementiatogetherwirral.org for a friendly chat. Sian, our volunteer coordinator, works Monday and Tuesday and will help you find a session that fits your week.
